My Current Skincare Routine 2018

I feel like I change my skincare routine every 6 months or so.  I'm not sure if it's a good thing, but this is what is working for me right now.  I feel like I say this every time I post a skincare routine, but I don't think my skin has ever looked so good as it does right now.  It probably helps that I had my first facial last weekend too.
I first start by wetting my face and using my Foreo Luna mini 2 with my Aveeno Positively Radiant face wash.  If it's the end of the day and I've been wearing makeup I use the Equate brand of eye makeup remover (same as the Neutrogena one) and then go in with Clinique's Take the Day Off cleansing balm.
The mask I've been using the most lately is the Aveeno 60 Second In Shower Facial, it makes my skin so smooth and I love the convenience of using it in the shower.  In the morning I like to use The Ordinary's hyaluronic acid as a base, but if I having a bad skin day I will use The Ordinary's Salicylic Acid 2% first and the the hyaluronic acid.  At night I like to use Niod's Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Acid, for some more intense moisturizing.  Alternating nights I go for The Ordinary's Lactic Acid 10% ( I couldn't live without this!)
I've been really loving the Dr.Botanical's Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil as a last step after moisturizer during the day.
Ever since I had a rash on my cheeks last year I've been scared to stray from my Eucerin Replenishing Face Cream, so it'll probably stay in my routine forever.
The two eye creams I'm using at the moment are my beloved Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist24 and the Olay Total Effects 7 in one which I've been using for about a month and liking so far.
Olay's Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil has been a staple, if I'm not applying the Dr.Botanicals oil I'm applying this one night and day.  I've just been loving using oils lately and I would suggest you try it out.
To finish off my face I spray some of Omorovicza's Queen of Hungary Mist.
I never ever thought I would rely on a facial mist but this has changed my mind.  When my skin is feeling really dehydrated I spray this about four different times through out my routine.
I honestly think this has changed my skin the most out of everything.
I have less breakouts, less redness, my skin feels so hydrated and smooth, it's just amazing.
Then I go in with the Hylamide HA Blur on my t-zone and a tiny bit under my eyes to help smooth things out, then I use ThisWorks InTransit Camera Close up all over for a perfect glow.  It's a mask, moisturizer and primer all in one.
I really enjoy using it as a primer and then I spritz a bit more of the mist and I'm done.
The result, for me, is super glow-y, radiant skin.

Celebrating My 30th Birthday at Oak Bay Beach Hotel

Last weekend my Mom and I took a trip down island for my birthday.
I think it hit her more than me that I'm thirty, hence the trip.
We stayed at the Oak Bay Beach hotel and had the most amazing time.
I wish we would've stopped to take pictures of the gorgeous seaside, but the roads were pretty busy.  Also the houses there are right up my alley, old Victorian beauties.
The hotel it's self is breath taking.
We, unfortunately, could only stay one night but I'm already planning my next trip back there.
When we stepped into our room we both instantly noticed the view (as seen above) and proceeded to take out our cameras and snap pictures of everything.
There was a card on the table along with two macarons.  The staff at this hotel really when above and beyond to make me feel special, and all it took was this card with a long handwritten note inside.

After stepping outside for some sea air, playing with the heated floors in the bathroom and discovering that the sliding doors to the bath tub and bedroom open and close so you can still see the view, we headed out for dinner.

We ate at our usual 'fancy' spot, Japanese Village, where they cook your food right in front of you.
We thought about trying somewhere new, but Japanese Village never disappoints.
By the time we were done it was almost eight o'clock and we headed back to the hotel to get into our robes and enjoy the Boathouse Spa and baths.
What's great about the baths is they're open until midnight and you can sit back and look up at the stars all while being warm in the nice cozy tub.

Monday morning we got up early and went for breakfast at Oak's Restaurant.  It is an older building, which I personally love, and it's right on the main road so you can do lots of people watching.
The breakfast was delicious and they supply you with ample amounts of coffee.

Eleven o'clock my Mom and I both had spa appointments.  She booked us each in for an hour massage and a thirty minute facial.
I have never had a massage before, so I was incredibly nervous.
When we went into the change room we quietly discussed what we were supposed to do, until we gave up being unsure and asked another girl that was in there with us.
She was so sweet and didn't act like we were weird and told us that we can go fully nude or keep on what ever we felt comfortable with.
Once we had a plan we went and sat in the lounge awaiting our appointments.

The girl who I had for my massage/facial was awesome.
I had a great experience for my first massage and already want another one.
They use the brand B.Kamins for their facials, I had never heard of it before but my skin definitely liked it.
After our pampered afternoon we wandered around the malls, but came out empty handed, before heading back home.
Ten out of ten would go back, but will be booking more than just one night.

This is Thirty

I was working on this post about 30 things I've learned, you know because now I'm thirty.
I scrapped it.
I started it and while I've learned a lot it made me feel like I need to do more.  I am pretty happy with my life, but my list made me feel like I was lacking.  I'm only thirty.  I have so much more time to do things that I want to do, but I am so happy with what I have right now.

How many people can say they're in a relationship that they feel just right in at thirty?
My fiancee is twenty five, when I was twenty five we were only dating about 6 months and I wasn't sure how it was going to play out.  He was nineteen, when we started dating...how lucky am I that both of us so young have stayed together and never strayed.  That's pretty good, I think.

I just feel really grateful after my special day yesterday.
We both had our tea leaves read together and it was so special to me, as getting my tea leaves read is something I've done since I was sixteen and I believe in that kind of stuff, I love it.  But the fact that she could read so much of our personalities and that he goes away for work and that when he's gone I sometimes eat naughty (nachos and wine please!).

I wish I would've got a picture but my youngest brother made me a birthday cake, a layered, earl grey infused, crepe cake.  It was so freaking delicious, so much so that like I said, there was no time for a picture.
I had pancakes for breakfast, Greek food for lunch, my favorite scone for a snack with tea and my most favorite pizza for dinner.  I love food.

I am quite excited to be thirty, not sure why as people still think I'm a teenager but at least now I get the shock factor when I tell them and I enjoy that.

My mom and I are going away this weekend, so I'm hoping to have a good post for you next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Last but not least, I had to buy myself a birthday present!  After about three years I've finally bought myself a set of Zoeva makeup brushes.  Not going to lie, it was slightly wine induced, but I have been looking at them forever.
I bought the volume 1 rose golden set, as I am super intrigued by the silk finish brush.  And I bought the 101 luxe face definer brush in rose golden volume 2, because I am struggling to find a good contour brush and I think this is it.

Let me know in the comments if you have ever tried the Zoeva brushes, I'm curious of your opinion.
Also, let me know if you've had your tea leaves read and if it's been accurate! I'd love to know!
Have a great weekend!
