Soon To Be Bath & Body Works Haul

Autumn is on it's way.
I say this and it's not even August yet.
But I am a Fall lover and that means spending my pay check at Bath and Body Works.
I've been browsing their site lately and thought I would share some things that looked intriguing to me.

I am not big on cinnamon smells, but the pumpkins on this cinnamon pumpkin wallflower...
And I love their apple candles I picked up last year, so this green apple orchard one might be good too..
Anything vanilla works for me..
Sea salt? Maple? and Popcorn? I'm there.

How can you not be intrigued by a name like Harvest Gathering? It's supposed to smell of  red apple, cinnamon leaf and cranberry.  The cinnamon throws me off, I hope the apple scent is strong.
These are just so simple looking! This one is called Autumn and I think I'm going to enjoy it. The scents are pomegranate, apple and fig.

This one is odd, but I'm curious.

I feel my pay check slowly disappearing and I haven't even received it yet.
This one has hints of caramel, apple and vanilla. I'm sold 100% on this one.
And this owl needs to be adopted.
The hand soaps are on sale, and just look at the sleeves!
There's an apple scentportable! now even my car can smell like Fall!
I don't apologize for being too excited but I do apologize for being too excited at six in the morning.
I think I know where I'm headed after work today.

Have a lovely week!
Can you believe it's August in two days?

Friday Five (1)- Beauty Items

I think I may have lost my mind.
I swear last week I had started a Friday Five type of thing on my blog.
Maybe I just thought about it? Who knows.

Anyways I decided to start a Friday Five. It can be five of anything, five things I love/hate, five things that happened that week etc.

This week I'm doing something easy because its my six day work week and I wasn't ready to think to hard about this, plus I haven't done anything else as I am pooched.

So here are the five beauty type things that I have been consistently using!
Starting from the left: Macadamia deep repair masque (this is the only thing I've found so far that makes my hair so soft. I use it twice a week, one deep treatment where I cover my whole head and leave it on for 20mins and then another day I put it on the lower half of my hair and leave it on for 10mins)
Soap and Glory Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em (I became addicted to this last year, it just smooths out the bumps on my arms and legs and helps with dry skin)
Philosophy Miracle Worker Eye Serum (I received this in a Topbox awhile back and just started using it. Amazing.)
Herbal Essences Naked Shampoo (It smells like mint and grapefruit (is that weird?))
Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Scrub (I have been using this for awhile now and my skin is the best its looked in ages. No funny bumps on my forehead or around my nose. My pores look smaller and the overall redness in my face has gone down.

There you have it!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I hope to be more energetic and have more time to blog next week!

9 Careers I Wanted To Have

When I was younger there were many things I wanted to be when I grew up and the majority of my career options fell under the same category (except for the odd one).

I was probably around the age of seven when I decided I wanted to work at Walmart like Mom. I thought being a cashier was a prime career.
I still have never really been a cashier.

About a year later we were learning about dinosaurs in school. I was going to be a paleontologist.
I should've stuck with my gut when I was eight as I still find dinosaurs fascinating.

Ages nine to eleven my career options were make up artist, dancer, singer, fashion designer and hair dresser.
I had never used make up and still didn't until I was about fifteen. I was gangly and tall for my age so my awkward movements wasn't really dancing. I was tone deaf.  I still have my binder full of designs. I preferred having my hair done than doing other people's hair.

From age twelve until...well now I was going to model. I was slightly successful in this career path, I just didn't try hard enough. I was in a couple local modeling contests, in a magazine once and in the paper. When I was seventeen I was told to lose weight, I thought that was dumb. I was seventeen and still had baby fat, yet I was so thin.  When I was in my early twenties I decided modeling wasn't for me, I was never going to be a size 0-2, or even a size 6 for that matter. I'm stick quite celery like but I am a size 8 and still think about commercial modeling, but so far I have yet to pursue that idea.
When I was twenty three I figured if you can't model, act. I started taking acting lessons. I went to a couple of open castings and I received a callback once. I didn't get the job but I just tell myself that I looked too young for the role of a twenty four year old.  Those acting lessons got expensive and my bank account wasn't growing, and I still didn't have a head shot or resume to my name. Plus I had a bum wrist from my job. I'm celery like, remember, so thin and wimpy...maybe dead celery.

When my wrist put out of work for about four months I decided it was time to be a real adult and get a "real job" aka a job that I can live off of (and in my mind a job where you don't work Sundays)
Plus my younger man already finished up the schooling for his career and supported my decision to go to school.

As much as I pleaded with my boyfriend to let me be a housewife for a living, after nine months of schooling I am now a phlebotomist.
We have decided though I could be a housewife if he maxes out at the welder wage.
My favorite era is the 1950s so hopefully that explains a bit.

There you have it, the short list of careers I wanted to have.

What careers have you wanted to have? Did you accomplish your dream career?
Enjoy the rest of the week!

Caving & A New Little Man

I'll be honest, I am quite happy with my career choice and I enjoy my job most days but I really don't like Mondays (now that they mean something).
Yesterday was such a draining day.
I started off the day feeling off and then proceeded to make mistakes the entire day, or so it felt.
It's only Tuesday and I still have four days to go after today.

But enough complaining, time for happy thoughts.

A week ago today I went out with my friend and took some pictures of her baby belly before the little man was born.  Luckily we did it when we did as she had him yesterday.
The pictures turned out pretty well if I do say so myself.

Saturday I finally got to sleep in until 9am. Happy girl right here! And then Boyfriend and I went caving.

This part of the cave was closed, but it looked so sparkly. Unfortunately my camera doesn't show off the sparkles too well.
Overall it was a fantastic weekend and I have the mosquito bites to prove it!

Where Are You Summer?

Hello Friends!
How are you?

Canada has come and gone and now we're into July.
It doesn't look much like Summer outside at the moment, but I'm hoping it starts to soon.
We did have a few days of hot weather and took advantage of it by jumping in the river.
It's a little bit of walk to get to our spot and there are these ugly black bugs that bite, but it sure is worth it.

Lately life has been including a few more things than working and sleeping, like watching Harry Potter (and falling asleep half an hour into it, every night.) eating too much ice cream (especially since lactose bothers me), lots of barbecuing and reading!
This weekend should be fun and not just me laying in bed like last weekend...
Have a good one!
