Wedding Planning

I feel like I've discussed this before. . .

Are you supposed to do engagement pictures as soon as you get engaged?
I just don't have any clue about anything.
I just know what I like.

It's kind of making me sick to my stomach.

Nothing chocolate can't solve.

Let's make a list, because I am good at lists.

1. I want dancing.
2. I want pie, pizza or pancakes.
3. I want Nathan to be happy.
4. We don't want to spend all of our savings
5. We would like it to be small-ish (60-ish)
6. I would prefer outside and I think he would too. We're island folk.
7. I want lots of music, like it's a movie and there is a soundtrack.
8. Late Summer/Early Autumn.
9. Not on a long weekend.
10. My friend from Wisconsin needs to be there
11. He needs to have a bachelor party
12. Fairy lights. Lots of fairy lights.
13. A local girl I know for my photographer, she did my brother's wedding too. Amazing.
14. No wedding cake, maybe pie.
15.Snacks.  Lots of snacks.

Does that not sound like a fun wedding or what? Food and dancing.

What are your future wedding wishes and any planning tips you have please leave them in the comments. I am desperate.

Family Day

Monday was even better than Sunday.
Here in B.C. it was Family Day so we had the day off together (a great start).
I slept in until almost nine because I was up until midnight watching 'The O.C.'

We decided to go on a walk right away, so I quickly changed (no outfit posts this time), made a shake and headed out the door.

After we finished at this beach we had to trek up a whole bunch of stairs to get to the car.  I didn't realize how out of shape I am. . .
The next beach we walked was a bit more relaxed.

Walking this beach made me realize how much I want to get married outside and perhaps at a beach.
We discussed that we will be having a small wedding and possibly no reception, unless we own a house by that time and then we can just host a party at our house.
But things are still up in the air.

We had the most unusual but delicious dinner.
I made a salad with arugula, spinach, yellow bell pepper, tomato and cucumber.
Nathan cut up potatoes very thinly using the mandolin and then layered them with cheese.
Yesterday we went to the grocery store and found kangaroo meat.
We've been on a kick with trying different kinds of meats lately and this is one of my favorites so far, too bad it's so expensive!

What is one of the strangest meats you've tried? Let me know in the comments!
Have a super week.

Wedding Planning

Where do you even start?

Of course, I am browsing Pinterest for ideas.

But there's the things Pinterest can't solve for you. . .

Who do you invite?

Should we get it catered?

Do we want to get married outside?

Intimate wedding? Big party?

Where should we have it?

The most common question right now is "do you have a date set?"
The answer to that is no.

We have zero ideas.

I have one close female friend, she lives in Wisconsin.  So bridesmaid options are slim.

We both agreed we would like to own a house first, but then he brought up the point that if we got married first we could ask for money for presents towards a house.  So, there's that.

I think lists are going to need to start soon.

If you have any tips please pop them in the comments below!
Thank you so much!

Summer Lovin'

Hello!
It's been awhile.  Longer than usual.
I don't really have excuses this time, but I have been focusing more on my youtube channel lately which I'm very proud of myself for doing.
I even invested in a new fancy camera as a present to myself.
My boyfriend is being very supportive and will even give me ideas for videos when I'm struggling.
So far, it's a lot of haul videos which are fun but I love videos that are done like a music video so I'm going to work some of that into my channel too.

What have you done so far this Summer?
We've taken a day trip up the island and that was probably one of the best days ever.

I'm looking forward to our trip down the coast at the end of August.
We've never taken a vacation together before so it will be neat to see how we do on a road trip!
Boyfriend has actually never taken any vacation time from work before so it will be nice for him to have a break.

We plan to go to Portland for sure and we hope to make it to Disneyland! I'm still working on the details though.

These past few weeks have been tough learning that some family, friends and pets all have cancer.  The family has been together a lot and just leaning on one another I guess is the best way to put it.
 It'll get better.

I'll have my first every niece in two months, we're waiting to hear about some other news from one of my brothers and then Boyfriend and I have been discussing marriage a lot lately.
He wants to get married in Disneyland, but I told him our mothers wouldn't be so happy about missing out on the marriage.

Needless to say, there are some exciting times to come and I'm ready to take it on!

My Brother Is A Husband

So last off I was whining about how I don't want to be an adult correct?
I don't know how to start this post...

Almost two weeks ago now was the bachelorette party.
I could give you the short or the long version...or just the version I remember.
The night started off awkward but okay at a restaurant where we ate way too much food.
Then we ditched the moms and took a cab to the hotel.
The maid of honor and I decorated the room while the others went out for a smoke. When they came back we decided it was time for some drinks.
I have discovered my a new least favorite drink...vodka and soda water. How disgusting! How can anybody drink this? I thought.
A few gifts were given the bride, she put her get up on (a sash and tiara), more drinks were had.
??????????????????
We showed up at a bar (where the bachelor party was) and I found my man and my good friend from work (or as I was calling him that night, "my best friend"), I saw a girlfriend I was close with when I was 15 and the boy I dated when I was fifteen. Did I mention my ex-boyfriend from two years ago was at my brother's bachelor party?
I don't have a clue if I said anything to him or what happened, but apparently later on I was crying (wonderful!)
Next thing I remember is being sick.
I woke up the next morning with a stamp on my hand and a headache.

I'm glad I don't have many female friends, that would be too many bachelorette parties.

This past weekend was the wedding.
Holy crap my brother is married, he is a husband. He wears a ring now. How weird.
I didn't cry, I didn't fall, I didn't get sick.
It was actually a lot of fun.
But the next day I was a bit sad? or just off. My younger brother is married before me, he has enough for a down payment on a house. We once made a bet on who would have a house first. I am still determined to win this bet.
Anyways, it's a little bit depressing that my younger brother did everything before me except get his license, first car or his period (because duh! boys don't get those)

Enjoy the rest of your week!
Soon I'll be blogging on certain days so that I have a proper schedule (Type A sometimes)

I am twenty six years old.

When I was younger I never thought about being married, going to college or even the fact that I would grow up.
I remember playing Barbies with my best friend all the time, but I don't recall my Barbies ever going to college, getting married etc.  My dolls went to concerts, were fashion designers, models, singers and actors.
I wish I had my Barbie's life. Except for when I chopped off their hair that one time, that doesn't grow back.

What I'm getting at is that I have never wanted to grow up and the career I've always wanted isn't the career I have now.
I wish I could go back and tell Little Me to try harder, pressure her parents to do the acting thing more because when I did my acting classes these last couple of years I absolutely loved it.
If I have children I would never pressure them into it because I missed out, but I wouldn't deny them that option either.  I dream big, it's what I do. That's why I don't shoot down other peoples dreams because I know that mine are big and tough to get into.

I am panicking.
I love my job (I haven't even started yet but I did my practicum) but it's not something I want to do forever. Or it is something I want to do forever but I'd like to have my dream as a hobby. The job pays for the hobby/dream.
I've been so anxious lately, I can hardly sleep.  I feel like I missed out on something I love.  Then I remind myself you are a twenty six year old who looks like she's eighteen (so I've been told).  There's still time.
