My Wedding Day Makeup

I am finally getting around to this!
I was lucky on our wedding day, my sister-in-law did my makeup and hair and it was amazing.  She also planned our entire wedding. Amazing woman overall.
I had all the make up we used (minus the eyelashes), because I'm an addict and even bought a specific blush for the day.
I love blush.  I just bought two more.  One day, soon, I'll do a blush post.

Of course I did my skin care first:
Shiseido eye masks-these are a holy grail for me, especially before any event.
Make P:rem micro tension cream-I love this stuff but it's becoming harder for me to find ever since GlowRecipe stopped selling it, luckily I hoarded a few of them.
Shiseido eye cream
Biore Sunscreen- This sunscreen works amazing for my skin. It has a strong alcohol scent but it disappears pretty quick. I actually just bought 3 back ups of this the other day.

If I remember correctly I used three primers on the big day:
VDL Lumilayer primer- great for glowy glass skin
Tatcha Silk Canvas- Great for smoothing out my skin. I save this for special occasions. I love Tatcha products.
Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer- I used this in my t-zone where my pores are most prominent just for some extra smoothness/filling
Becca Under-eye brightening correcter in light-medium- I have been buying this for years now and I've only gone through three or four jars of it. I hope they never stop making this.
Wet 'N Wild Mega Cushion Color Correcter in Peach- If you couldn't tell already, I love a bright under eye.  Not going to lie. . .I have about 6 back ups of this in fear that they'll discontinue it like L'ancome discontinued theirs.  I can't say enough good things about this.  Sometimes I will go without concealer and just wear this for the day with a bit of blush.
Surprisingly I wore foundation but not concealer on the big day.  But funny story, the foundation we used I use every day as my concealer.
Laneige BB Cushion Hydra Radiance in Porcelain- This is my every day concealer, it's so natural and glowy, I love it.  If I need extra coverage I will add a dab of something on top, but that's rare as I just love how this looks.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light- I feel like this is just a list of my holy grails as I've repurchased this powder quite a few times as well.  It's not heavy, makes everything look blurred and it lasted from about 11am-2am the next day.  The foundation and this powder are a great combo for me.
For contour and blush we used Charlotte Tilbury.  The Filmstar Bronze & Glow in fair/medium was a spur of the moment purchase on my birthday a few years ago and has been a favorite ever since.  The bronzer is a perfect shade for my skin tone.  I bought the Cheek to Chic blush in Pillow Talk a few weeks before the day, I just couldn't say no to color.
Then for highlight I had to use my Dior Nude Luminizer 001, had to.  I love Dior.  I bought the luminizer a couple years ago during a Sephora sale as I had been eyeing it up for a long time.  When we did my trial run for makeup a gold-ish Maybelline highlight was used, which was pretty but gold didn't suit my skin tone and then I remembered that beautiful Dior one that I save for special occasions and it was a perfect fit.  I'll be honest, the shade 001 freaked me out a bit at first as it looks so gold online but it's actually a beautiful nude shade and great for my yellow undertone.
Another Dior product, the brow styler in universal dark brown.  I love how simple this pencil is, one cap, a great spoolie and the product just twists up.  This shade is perfect for me, absolutely perfect.  It's a bit pricey for what it is but it works so great.
Fun fact, I've taken apart the pencil before and there is little product waste left in the little holder thing inside once you get to 'the end' of it.

The eye makeup.  We went with the palette that, oddly enough, screams romance to me: Urban Decay's Naked3 palette.  I feel like we neutral-pink for the look and the darker tones in the palette were less harsh than a black.
For inner corner highlight we used my all time favorite eye shadow, Stila's Kitten.
I've tried rewriting what I want to write about this eye shadow and I have no words. I love this to death and, in my eyes, no eye shadow will ever be better than it.  It is the most perfect creamy, nude, champagne color and the texture is like butter.

I'm pretty sure we used Ardell wispies.  I'm not going to link them as I'm not 100% sure they were the wispies or not.  For someone who never wears lashes, these were surprisingly comfortable for the 14 hours I wore them.
Over top we put a little bit of Nars Climax mascara, just to blend everything together.  I tend to be more of a length than volume person when it comes to mascara and I find this does both very well.  I usually hate volume because it comes out so clumpy, but this is great for volume without the clumps.

For the lips I bought options as I wasn't sure what I wanted to wear, but in the end I went with a Buxom duo that came out for the holidays.  The Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner in Incognito is a great your lips but better nude shade for my lips and I love it to line the lips or wear over the entire lip.  On my wedding day I wore it as a lip liner and over top I wore the Full On Plumping Lip Polish in Dolly. It's such a great neutral, mauve color and I felt like you could only tell I had something on my lips because they were glossy.  I personally love a glossy look over a matte one, but I tend to have dry lips.

The perfume I wore was Maison Margiela Replica By the Fireplace.
It is my favorite scent ever, especially in Autumn, so it was perfect for our October wedding.

And that is everything!
The whole day was more than I ever imagined it would be and looking back on it I wouldn't change a thing.

Wedding Planning

I feel like I've discussed this before. . .

Are you supposed to do engagement pictures as soon as you get engaged?
I just don't have any clue about anything.
I just know what I like.

It's kind of making me sick to my stomach.

Nothing chocolate can't solve.

Let's make a list, because I am good at lists.

1. I want dancing.
2. I want pie, pizza or pancakes.
3. I want Nathan to be happy.
4. We don't want to spend all of our savings
5. We would like it to be small-ish (60-ish)
6. I would prefer outside and I think he would too. We're island folk.
7. I want lots of music, like it's a movie and there is a soundtrack.
8. Late Summer/Early Autumn.
9. Not on a long weekend.
10. My friend from Wisconsin needs to be there
11. He needs to have a bachelor party
12. Fairy lights. Lots of fairy lights.
13. A local girl I know for my photographer, she did my brother's wedding too. Amazing.
14. No wedding cake, maybe pie.
15.Snacks.  Lots of snacks.

Does that not sound like a fun wedding or what? Food and dancing.

What are your future wedding wishes and any planning tips you have please leave them in the comments. I am desperate.

Family Day

Monday was even better than Sunday.
Here in B.C. it was Family Day so we had the day off together (a great start).
I slept in until almost nine because I was up until midnight watching 'The O.C.'

We decided to go on a walk right away, so I quickly changed (no outfit posts this time), made a shake and headed out the door.

After we finished at this beach we had to trek up a whole bunch of stairs to get to the car.  I didn't realize how out of shape I am. . .
The next beach we walked was a bit more relaxed.

Walking this beach made me realize how much I want to get married outside and perhaps at a beach.
We discussed that we will be having a small wedding and possibly no reception, unless we own a house by that time and then we can just host a party at our house.
But things are still up in the air.

We had the most unusual but delicious dinner.
I made a salad with arugula, spinach, yellow bell pepper, tomato and cucumber.
Nathan cut up potatoes very thinly using the mandolin and then layered them with cheese.
Yesterday we went to the grocery store and found kangaroo meat.
We've been on a kick with trying different kinds of meats lately and this is one of my favorites so far, too bad it's so expensive!

What is one of the strangest meats you've tried? Let me know in the comments!
Have a super week.

Saturday Night Thoughts. . .

It's Saturday night and you know what I've realized?
Vlogging is hard.

I tried to vlog this week and I managed to do it before work but looking back at it it's so boring!

The majority of it is me telling you I'm making my breakfast and that I'm going to clean and watch youtube before work.

I should have vlogged today to be honest.  We wandered around and shopped and then eventually came home and did drunk online shopping (which is one of my favorite activities).

Hopefully next week I'm more successful.  I'm not sure if I'll upload this week's "vlog" because it's kind of embarrassing.

You don't realize how lazy and boring you are until you film what you do for the day.

What did you do this Saturday?

I enjoyed today, we treated it like a Sunday aka we had zero plans and didn't do any chores.
And you know what? I'm excited to be engaged and I feel like it's made us feel closer and do more things together like be lazy in bed in the morning and play minecraft until 9am (like we did today).

It's just nice.
Get engaged, I highly recommend it.

I'm kind of thinking our wedding date will be in September 2017.  September and October are my favorites months.  It's a given that I love Summer, we both do.  But Autumn just holds a special place in my heart.  It smells good, there's good food and here in early Autumn it's warm.  We should probably figure that out soon rather than what song I want to walk down the aisle to...
That link is just one song I've been thinking about because we both like it.
Or "I Will Wait For You" by Mumford and Sons.  When we first started dating is when that song came out so it triggers a memory of taking the ferry to see him  and for him it triggers a memory of working on the mainland away from me.  So the acoustic version of that song would be perfect.

I'm all about music.  Music triggers memories for me, so with this whole wedding planning thing that's all I think about is music and memories.

I should do a post on what songs trigger certain memories.
If any songs trigger memories for you please leave them in the comments below as I am so curious!

Have a fantastic Saturday night and a lovely, relaxing Sunday!

Wedding Planning

Where do you even start?

Of course, I am browsing Pinterest for ideas.

But there's the things Pinterest can't solve for you. . .

Who do you invite?

Should we get it catered?

Do we want to get married outside?

Intimate wedding? Big party?

Where should we have it?

The most common question right now is "do you have a date set?"
The answer to that is no.

We have zero ideas.

I have one close female friend, she lives in Wisconsin.  So bridesmaid options are slim.

We both agreed we would like to own a house first, but then he brought up the point that if we got married first we could ask for money for presents towards a house.  So, there's that.

I think lists are going to need to start soon.

If you have any tips please pop them in the comments below!
Thank you so much!

Summer Lovin'

Hello!
It's been awhile.  Longer than usual.
I don't really have excuses this time, but I have been focusing more on my youtube channel lately which I'm very proud of myself for doing.
I even invested in a new fancy camera as a present to myself.
My boyfriend is being very supportive and will even give me ideas for videos when I'm struggling.
So far, it's a lot of haul videos which are fun but I love videos that are done like a music video so I'm going to work some of that into my channel too.

What have you done so far this Summer?
We've taken a day trip up the island and that was probably one of the best days ever.

I'm looking forward to our trip down the coast at the end of August.
We've never taken a vacation together before so it will be neat to see how we do on a road trip!
Boyfriend has actually never taken any vacation time from work before so it will be nice for him to have a break.

We plan to go to Portland for sure and we hope to make it to Disneyland! I'm still working on the details though.

These past few weeks have been tough learning that some family, friends and pets all have cancer.  The family has been together a lot and just leaning on one another I guess is the best way to put it.
 It'll get better.

I'll have my first every niece in two months, we're waiting to hear about some other news from one of my brothers and then Boyfriend and I have been discussing marriage a lot lately.
He wants to get married in Disneyland, but I told him our mothers wouldn't be so happy about missing out on the marriage.

Needless to say, there are some exciting times to come and I'm ready to take it on!

Goodbye 2014

Hello Lovelies!
What are you doing this New Year's Eve?
I am all dressed up, make up and hair done. I think I look quite nice.
I came over to Boyfriend's house to find him in a dress shirt and all handsome!
You probably think I'm a nut bar for writing this post at 6pm on New Year's Eve.

We just finished wings and the rest of our night consists of prawns, video games, maybe a movie and a couple of drinks.
We're not that cool anymore. Last year we stayed in too, but this year was a bit more planned than last.
That's the hair and makeup (nothing extreme) and the dress I ended up wearing will be linked HERE) and if I get the Get Ready With Me video uploaded to the youtube it will be linked below.

This past year had highlights but at the same time I feel like it wasn't anything that stood out to me, but it should be.

I just finished the last day of my first year in my 365 Questions journal, which asked what was the most memorable moment of this year.  Here are my top three:

1. My younger brother got married.

 2. Graduation from College. And also I finally have a career.

3. The time spent with Boyfriend. We had a blast this year going to the river, the corn maze, farmer's markets etc

I think that 2015 is going to be amazing.
I hope to have yet another blog up tomorrow consisting of some goals I have for the year.

Have a safe and fun New Year's Eve!

My Brother Is A Husband

So last off I was whining about how I don't want to be an adult correct?
I don't know how to start this post...

Almost two weeks ago now was the bachelorette party.
I could give you the short or the long version...or just the version I remember.
The night started off awkward but okay at a restaurant where we ate way too much food.
Then we ditched the moms and took a cab to the hotel.
The maid of honor and I decorated the room while the others went out for a smoke. When they came back we decided it was time for some drinks.
I have discovered my a new least favorite drink...vodka and soda water. How disgusting! How can anybody drink this? I thought.
A few gifts were given the bride, she put her get up on (a sash and tiara), more drinks were had.
??????????????????
We showed up at a bar (where the bachelor party was) and I found my man and my good friend from work (or as I was calling him that night, "my best friend"), I saw a girlfriend I was close with when I was 15 and the boy I dated when I was fifteen. Did I mention my ex-boyfriend from two years ago was at my brother's bachelor party?
I don't have a clue if I said anything to him or what happened, but apparently later on I was crying (wonderful!)
Next thing I remember is being sick.
I woke up the next morning with a stamp on my hand and a headache.

I'm glad I don't have many female friends, that would be too many bachelorette parties.

This past weekend was the wedding.
Holy crap my brother is married, he is a husband. He wears a ring now. How weird.
I didn't cry, I didn't fall, I didn't get sick.
It was actually a lot of fun.
But the next day I was a bit sad? or just off. My younger brother is married before me, he has enough for a down payment on a house. We once made a bet on who would have a house first. I am still determined to win this bet.
Anyways, it's a little bit depressing that my younger brother did everything before me except get his license, first car or his period (because duh! boys don't get those)

Enjoy the rest of your week!
Soon I'll be blogging on certain days so that I have a proper schedule (Type A sometimes)
